Mepis Grub Re-loader Work Around
For : Mepis Linux 6.5 Betas By : je.saist This guide is more of a visual bug report. In the current betas of Mepis 6.5 the reloading section for the Grub boot entry is flip flopped. What do I mean? Watch below. 1: Typical for a Guide. Starting on the LiveCD under /root ![]() 2: Mepis entry under System ![]() 3: Mepis System Assistant ![]() 4: Under the MEPIS System window. ![]() 5: To the Repair System Boot tab. We have three entries of interest here: System boot Disk: The harddrive where the Grub bootloader is located at. MEPIS Installation disk: The harddrive where MEPIS is installed at. /(root) partition: the location of the MEPIS OS. ![]() 6: So, I am going to change MEPIS Installation disk from hda to sda sda is my Serial ATA drive where I installed MEPIS ![]() 7: However, there is no entry in the /(root) partition. ![]() 8: However, if I change the System Boot Disk to sda, which is not the boot disk... ![]() 9: Now I have an entry under /(root) partition. ![]() 10: Now I am going to change the MEPIS Installation disk back to HDA which, again, is not the install disk. ![]() 11: Left Click on Apply ![]() 12: The MEPIS assistant now wants to place the grub bootloader at HDA As shown, the System Boot Disk is set as sda and the Install as hda. ![]() So there we go, just keep in mind that the Fields for System Boot and Mepis Installation are flipped, and you should be fine when re-installing the Grub BootLoader. Take me back to the Guides. |
