Install Mepis 6.5 on Serial ATA

This guide shows installing Mepis on a normal Serial ATA Drive. 1: Starting from the LiveCD in /root mode. ![]() 2: Left Click on MEPIS Install. ![]() 3: The license page. Left Click in the checkbox next to I agree to the Terms. ![]() 4: With the terms agreed to, Left Click on Next. ![]() 5: Here we can see that Use Disk points to sda, our SATA Drive. Mepis also defaults to a use custom partitions. ![]() 6: Left Click in the dot next to Auto-Install using entire disk Then Left Click on Next. ![]() 7: Left Click on Yes to confirm all previous data going down the drain like Vista sales. (oh yeah, I went there) ![]() 8: Get comfy, this part "could" take a while. As shown below, Ksnapshot had time to refresh the image before the frame buffer had fully cleared. ![]() 9: When the system finishes installing, Mepis will ask to install GRUB. ![]() 10: A simple Left Click on Next will do. ![]() 11: Left Click on Yes to confirm the loading of GRUB. ![]() 12: After a few moments, Mepis will confirm that GRUB was installed. Left Click on OK. ![]() 13: Choose the services you want to have enabled. ![]() 14: When ready, Left Click on Next. ![]() 15: Next Mepis will ask for network information. When ready, Left Click on Next. ![]() 17: Input the desired username and password. Another Left Click on Next to move on. ![]() 18: And we are done.
