Following this Guide WILL PUT YOUR INFORMATION AT RISK.

Not MAY, it WILL.

Over Part 1 we covered the undo function of qtparted and went as far as creating our logical partition for the Mepis Install. Time to finish creating the Linux Partitions.

23: We can now see that there is a new free partition underneath the extended partition.

Left Click on the bottom free partition.

24: Right Click on the bottom free partition to bring up the context menu

Left Click on Create.

25: This time our partition box has held the settings of GB. The current size is 52.39gig

26: I am going to change the size to 10gig

27: Left Click on OK

28: sda5 now shows as an ext3 partition. Left Click on the bottom free partition again.

29: Right Click on the bottom free partition to bring up the context menu

Left Click on Create

30: This next partition will be our /swap

We can change the partition type with a drop-down menu.

31: Change the partition type to be linux-swap

32: There, our partition type is now set as linux-swap, and our current partition size is 42.40gig

33: I am going to change the partition size to be 1gig

34: Left Click on OK

35: One more time on the bottom free partition. Right Click to bring up the context menu

Left Click on Create

36: No need to change the size, just Left Click on OK.

37: The commit button is in the upper left hand corner of qtparted, shaped like a floppy disk.

Left Click on the floppy disk icon.

38: qtparted will ask for confirmation on the changes and warn to make sure the drives are not mounted at this time.

Left Click on Yes

39: It may take a while, but wait for qtparted to report Operations completed successfully.

40: Left Click on OK

41: We can go ahead and close qtparted.

I missed setting up that logical partition, can I go back to Part 1?

I've got the Partitions down, onwards to the actual install in Part 3.

Take me back to the Guides.
