Kompozer Install

Alright, back in Part 1 we went and got Kompozer. In Part 2 we extracted. Now to actually run the application. We also will link the application to the desktop.


20: Like the original NVU guide, Kompozer is also activated by a Shell Script file.

Just look for the file named kompozer and Left Click on it once.





21: There we go. Kompozer is loaded. Same as NVU, there is a Tip box that pops up. Go ahead and close the tip box.





22: And from the looks of it, aside from some different colors, doesn't look any different from NVU. I would hope so, most of the changes are on the back end and in the menus or options.

Go ahead and close Kompozer. We'll put a link on the desktop next.





23: Now, I'm going to shrink the formally maximized /home/username folder.

Also, I closed Ark at the same time.




24. Now we have both our window and our desktop.





25: Left Click and Hold on the Kompozer Shell Script.





26: Drag the Kompozer Shell Script out OVER the desktop.





27: Let Go of the Left Mouse Button.  We will now have a context menu to Move here, Copy Here, or Link Here

Left Click on Link Here.





28: And there is our icon on the desktop.





29: Left Click once on the Kompozer Shell Script on the desktop, and Kompozer should reopen.
