| Alright, in Part 1 we left off with having just marked Amarok to be upgraded. Now, lets resume. 22: I now see that Amarok and Amarok-xine have been highlighted and show the updwards swooshing arrow. ![]() 23: Now lets work on Kino. I am going to Left Click on Kino so that it turns into the highlighted blue. ![]() 24: Once again I am going to Right Click to bring up the Context Menu Then I am going to Left Click on Mark for Upgrade ![]() 25: Once again we see Kinoplus as the hold up. I am going to Left Click on Cancel again. ![]() 26: Now I am going to go up to the top of Synaptic and Left Click on Search. ![]() 27: In the search box I am going to type the name of the program that is giving me trouble. In this case I am going to type in Kino and then Left Click on Search ![]() 28: Synaptic shows a collection of programs, and there is our Kinoplus.I am going to Left Click on Kinoplus ![]() 29: Once Kinoplus is highlighted Synaptic will list the Description below. Kinoplus appearently adds some effects to the kino program. ![]() 30: Now I am going to do the same for Kino. I am going to Left Click on Kino, and then check the description. I also am going to pay attention to the version numbers. In this case the installed version of Kino is .80, and the new version is .92 I also am going to notice in Kino's description that the effects plugins have been merged into the Kino program itself. It doesn't seem like removing kinoplus is going to cause any problems then. ![]() 31: So, I am going to Right Click on Kino once more, and Left Click on Mark for Upgrade, once more. ![]() 32: Now, I am actually going to Left Click on Mark ![]() 33: Kino is still highlighted in blue because we selected it. However, kinoplus is now highlighted in red. ![]() 34: I am going to now go up to the top of Synaptic and left click on Apply. ![]() 35: Going to click on Apply again to confirm the changes. ![]() 36: Wait for the download and install to complete. ![]() 37: When Syanptic finishes, I am going to Left Click on Close. ![]() 38: Now Kino is upgraded. But, that doesn't mean we aren't all the way done. New updates are coming in all the time. Lets go back to our main synaptic screen. Go ahead and Left Click on Reload at the top of Synaptic. ![]() 39: Wait for the new lists to be downloaded. ![]() 40: Once the lists have been reloaded, we can pay attention to the lower left hand corner of Synaptic. I am going to Left Click on the icon that says Status ![]() 41: Once again I am going to check the Installed (upgradable) list. And yes, in the time it took me to write this, another update came in.
