For more information on the capture card and method, and why the picture is so blurry and white washed, a hardware report is located here. 1: When loading up the Mepis 7 Alpha boot disc we should see a simplified menu. The help buttons have been moved to the bottom of the screen instead of the top, and the number of boot options has been paired back from Mepis 6.5. ![]() Located at the top of the boot
loader is a simplified boot menu. X.org and the Nvidia drivers are no
longer specified on this version.
Default : this option tries to auto detect the hardware and assign an appropriate driver.
60mhz : this option forces a low refresh rate, but the display may be blurry and or scanlines 75mhz : this option forces a higher refresh rate for a smoother picture. Vesa : the Vesa driver is a bare frame buffer. This should work on all graphics cards. Failsafe : this mode turns off advanced power functions. Memtest : this is a utility to test for bad memory. 2: Hitting F3 allows users to change the default resolution. The top option that is blurred out is Auto Res. This is the default option and Mepis tries to fit the correct resolution for the monitor in use.
