| During Part 1 of the
install Guide to Return to Castle
Wolfenstein it was noted that the extra maps in the Game of the Year
edition were freely available for all to get. This install
will
cover how to install these extra maps. 1: The first step is to obtain the maps. Simply visit ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/wolf/linux/ and download the wolf-linux-GOTY-maps.x86.run to the /home/(username) directory.  2: Once the file is downloaded, open up Konsole  3: Type dir  4: There is our file. Problem is, it cannot be installed in user mode. Lets get to root, so su  5: Once the root password is entered the login name should change.  6: now type in sh wolf-linux-GOTY-maps.x86.run  7: Hit I agree to accept the license.  8: Since the install has to occur in root, the installer will default to the normal location for /root installed applications. But, that isn't where the RtCW guide put the game.  9: Change the install path to the directory where RtCW is installed at. In this case, it is for this install /home/(username)/wolfentstein and then hit Begin Install  10: When the install is completed, hit exit  Cool, now take me back to part 1 of the RtCW install.  |
